Work with us at Torsby Hospital

Torsby Hospital is the county's northernmost emergency hospital with 24/7 operations. We work in a clinic-free and flow-oriented manner and have the opportunity to optimize operations if necessary.

Around 500 employees work with us with cutting-edge expertise in many different areas. We provide emergency medical care as well as planned care, and distinguish ourselves by the fact that the hospital is clinic-free and brings together all specialties. It strengthens cooperation around patients and allows us to adapt the operation as needed, for example during the ski season when the catchment area increases significantly.

Specialized and comprehensive care

We have operations in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urology, oncology, gynecology, radiology, laboratory, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and a mobile team for specialized healthcare at home. We also have an open psychiatry unit and a dialysis unit here.

The operations include:

  • Elective and emergency orthopaedics, with special assignments for knee replacement revisions for the entire region.
  • Elective and urgent surgery, with special assignment for bariatrics, advanced anal fistulas, hernias and abdominoplasty for the entire region.
  • Endoscopy.

Heart and commitment

We are often told that we are a small hospital with a big heart and commitment, and there is something to that. The "we" feeling is constantly present at Torsby Hospital and all units have a central role in the work with and around our patients. Good cooperation between units and with partners, short decision-making paths and close contact with the area management is a characteristic for us.

At the hospital, we care about the health and well-being of the staff and we have access to our own staff gym and our own personal trainer.
